Wool jewelry and rainbow colors

We had such a wonderful time at the craft fair, it was terrific, and we will be attending again next time for sure!

People were very cheerful, and we met quite a few fellow handspinners and crocheters, it was so lovely chatting with them. One lady purchased a handspun yarn shortly before the fair closed for the night, and she returned with a most beautiful finished crochet scarf the very next morning. “I couldn´t wait, I just had to get my crochet hook out and work with that yarn while watching Harry Potter on TV” she said. She then went and also bought one of the 100m-project crochet hats I had made with the same yarn size and colourway. Dont these colors look fabulous on her?

I finished some new felt necklaces in rich rainbow shades, and there are also brown and gray versions in stock now embellished with shiny silk! They are displayed in my etsy store StoneCircleWools.

And there will be more hand dyed rovings, curly fleece and handspun yarns for my etsy store All The Pretty Fibers soon, please bear with me while I restock the yarns and fibers.

Everyone have a fantastic month of November. Keep it colorful!!

Yarn and fiber update

So the craft fair is drawing nearer, and most of the yarns are spun, painted, labeled and boxed. I am still fiddling with the textile labels I have to sew into my wool hats and scarves, it is time consuming, and I don´t like sewing very much.

I have not been neglecting my etsy store :o) There are now fresh yarns, rovings and batts  listed, have a look:

I also painted a new batch of extra soft british bluefaced leicester curly fleece for my dollmakers in a beautiful honey blonde shade. One of my customers sent me some photos of one of her miniature dolls, for which she used my painted reddish brown fleece. This little doll is truly adorable:

Such a cutie!

Everyone have a wonderful autumn season and Happy Crafting!

Fresh from the spinning wheel

I am still in the spinning mood, and I will be doing a lot of pedalling until fall. We will be attending a large craft fair in October, so I better get tons of squishy yummy yarns off my little bobbins. I am very much looking forward to the fair and to the fall season. I need the colour changes of mother nature, I couldn´t do without them! Here are some of the yarns I finished this week for my etsy shop:

So these are this week´s yarn babes: “Waterfall”, “Autumn Rose”, more “Tomato Soup”, “Fudge”, “Sunset”, and the yarn at the bottom left is my “River Garden”, similar to the previous “Dragonfly” but not from the same fiber batch. The green yarn is my chunky “Jungle 7”, which comes with 111yds per 3.5oz skein. The yardage will be sufficient for a buttoned neckwarmer or a beanie hat.

Okay, let me go back pedalling. :o)

Everyone Happy Crafting!

Tomato Soup and Dragonfly

My handspun extra soft merino yarn “Charybdis” is back in stock,

Thick and thin yarns, and new silk

A new shade of very high quality pure mulberry silk roving (combed top) is now available in my etsy store. It´s a rich and beautiful dark chocolate brown and gorgeously soft with great sheen. Perfect for silky doll hair, handspinning and adding to felting projects.

I finished a new batch of my handspun merino thick and thin yarn “Jungle”

The thick and thin yarns are available in 60yd skeins but also in mini skeins of 4.5yds (4m) per colourway. These small quantities are very suitable for embellishing and felting projects or for dreads/hairfalls and doll hair, where less yardage is required. Here´s a crochet slouchy hat that I finished last week. It includes 3yds of the thick and thin yarn “Savannah”:

Everyone, have a very lovely spring season! :o)

Fiber Project Bags

I have prepared several new fiber project bags, containing loads of beautiful colours, pure wools and silks, handspun thick and thin yarns, and curly fleece wool. The bags are perfect for spinning, felting, dollmaking, embellishing and sewing. They are now available in my etsy store:

There are now 3 new colourways available in my handspun yarn section, vibrant, rich and simply gorgeous! I have spun them into thick and thin super bulky yarns and also into worsted single yarns. These colourways will become a permanent part of my stock:

The yarns are now displayed in my Etsy store.

That´s all for now :o) Everyone have a very good weekend, and a Happy New Year!

December treats

Towards the end of the year I have painted a last December batch of 50/50 merino/silk rovings that are now displayed in my etsy store and a new crochet slouchy hat has come to life from my handpainted extra soft merino yarn “Amber Forest”. I have also sorted several bags of natural grey and handpainted wensleydale curls, 4 lots of drum carded merino/silk batts, also available on etsy  ,

Okay, that´s all for the rest of the year :o) Let me get back into my kitchen and try a new round of handmade Christmas cake….the first one exploded in the oven….nice….the second lot never rose….and the third one better be a well behaved and well baked cake, or else! I will also prepare a chestnut-chocolate mousse for 3.Advent Sunday, that should be an easy task…I think. Though I can´t promise that it will indeed make it to the family table, it is ever so delicious!! :o)

Everyone have a peaceful Christmas and a very happy and prosperous New Year!

September update

This month I have not been painting a lot of rovings because my new bulk of greasy fleeces arrived, and I am washing, sorting and dipping away like there was no tomorrow. :o) But in the evenings I sat behind my spinning wheel and created some very lovely and colourful chunky yarns, they are all displayed in my etsy store:

Plus all standard merino-silk batts are also fully stocked and displayed. Fleece wise, once I have finished washing these babies, there will be extra soft Bluefaced Leicester curly fleece and beautiful curly wensleydale fleece. There are so far about 15 lbs washed and sorted….and just another 80 lbs to go…. I think it´s time to turn on Loreena McKennitt to boost up my motivation … ;o)

Fleece, yarn and a grand sunset

We have had the worst storm for the past 3 days, I thought I would loose my mind with all the rattling noise and howling wind around the house, day and night with no break. When the weather finally settled yesterday evening we were granted one of the most beautiful post storm sunsets I have ever seen up here in the mountains, it was breathtaking, I hope it comes across a little in the photo:

Now that the storm is over,  just for a change we are now getting tons of snow, it´s snowing, and snowing….and snowing. The snow is actually quite lovely when you don´t need to get in the car and plough your way through it. Kitty is having a ball, digging for poor little mice (she ain´t getting them anyway, they are too clever).

Today I am staying indoors, I am working on 2 custom orders of handpainted BFL fleece and handspun thick and thin yarns. I have been restocking my extra soft handspun thick and thin merino yarns on ebayUK (prices are viewable in US $ and British £ through this link) and the super soft 20 micron single colour and rainbow merino wool rovings in my etsy store:
