Fresh from the spinning wheel

I am still in the spinning mood, and I will be doing a lot of pedalling until fall. We will be attending a large craft fair in October, so I better get tons of squishy yummy yarns off my little bobbins, and the dyepot won´t be cooling down any time soon either. :o) I am very much looking forward to the fair and to the fall season. I need the colour changes of mother nature, I couldn´t do without them! Here are some of the yarns I finished this week for my etsy shop:

So these are this week´s yarn babes: “Waterfall”, “Autumn Rose”, more “Tomato Soup”, “Fudge”, “Sunset”, and the yarn at the bottom left is my “River Garden”, similar to the previous “Dragonfly” but not from the same fiber batch. The green yarn is my chunky “Jungle 7”, which comes with 111yds per 3.5oz skein. The yardage will be sufficient for a buttoned neckwarmer or a beanie hat.

Okay, let me go back pedalling. :o)

Everyone enjoy Summer and Happy Crafting!

Fresh from the bobbin

I have been in the pedalling mood all week, and 4 new handspun plied yarns have come off the bobbins –  very soft mulesing free merino wool in beautiful colourways. They can now be found in my etsy store:

Everyone have a wonderful month of June!

I carded new batches of super soft merino/silk batts – I didn´t entirely get around the autumn colours, I know it´s still summer, but I love those shades too much to leave them out. :o)

And of course some new yarns and rovings were created this month, merino/silk blends, bluefaced leicester, pure merino rovings, wensleydale long locks, hand painted merino lace, baby alpaca fingering weight, and a beautiful handspun thick and thin super chunky baby in stripey black, white and, grey that I have called “Snowy Rock”. Have a look:

Remember my pink-purple handspun merino-bluefaced leicester yarn from July´s blog? Well, I spun a second skein in the same colourway and a third one in multicolor rainbow yarn from my space dyed wool slivers, coming to about 310g (10.9oz) of yarn between worsted and chunky weight, with an approximate total length of 400m (440yds). I crocheted a beautiful and cosy hooded scarf with them. I love the finished piece very much, it came out the way I had hoped. It will be perfect for very cold weather. I kept my promise, didn´t I? I did not crochet another beanie…. :o)

Fresh from the wheel and dyepot

Just a quick update on my new batches of handspun and handpainted yarns and fibers that are now displayed in my etsy store . All yarns and fibers are exquisitely soft and so perfect for sensitive skin. :o)
