Here comes my new set of hand felted necklaces and hand dyed extra soft merino wool rovings, all in very rich and vibrant colors – color food for the soul! The felt necklaces come in sizes from S to XL and can be found at StoneCircleWools on Etsy, and the hand dyed roving at AllThePrettyFibers also on Etsy. :o)
And three new handspun merino yarns have come off the bobbins, “Dragonfly II” , “Embers II” and “Slate III”. The yarns are very soft and have more yardage than my regular lots, though they are still within the double knit and light worsted weight range, so they can be knitted with needle size 4-4.5mm (US 6-7). They are now displayed in my Etsy store AllThePrettyFibers
Everyone enjoy the Easter holidays and Happy Crafting!
I finished a custom order for 6 skeins of handspun worsted weight merino yarn for a very lovely german lady, who requested the yarns for a nightshift shawl project using a knitting pattern created by Andrea Mowry. However she didn´t want the earthy fall colors used in the original, she had a very specific color combination in mind. If you are on ravelry you can find the shawl pattern and more informationhere. Now, I am a true sucker for fall colors, you can sell them to me all year around, but the colourways my customer chose make an extraordinary and very interesting gang indeed! Here are the glorious 6:
From left to right: “Jungle 7”, 18.5 micron merino in lime green and bottle green, “Fairyland”, “Waterfall”, “Autumn Rose”, and “Bali Dancer”. Each skein measures 167-178yds (150-160m) per 3.5oz (100g).
Man, I would LOVE to see a pic once the shawl is finished! I will ask the lady very nicely, with a big cherry on top ;o)
The bulky version of these yarns are for sale in my etsy store. I spin them on a regular basis, and in case one is sold out custom requests are most welcome.
While I was packing up the yarns and today´s orders my little spanish girl was desperate to catch a fraction of the March sunlight – I swear the weather has been weird for March, first we get a whopping 20 degrees Celsius (me walking around outside in a T-Shirt and shorts…), and next thing you know it´s snowing….what the….???
So for exactly 12 minutes Señorita Kitty was in sunny heaven, bless her.
Here comes my first blog of the new year, a little late I know, but several yarn orders kept me busy pedalling away. Okay, the following fibers and yarns are now displayed in my etsy store, they include repeatable colourways and one of a kind lots, have a look:
During the cold season I very much enjoy crocheting new merino hats, they are all made with my handspun and hand dyed yarns. Most of them are one of a kind. You can find them on etsy at StoneCircleWools:
I am already preparing for the next craft fair in March, spinning, carding and painting away, so new custom orders may take a little longer than usual.
We had such a wonderful time at the craft fair, it was terrific, and we will be attending again next time for sure!
People were very cheerful, and we met quite a few fellow handspinners and crocheters, it was so lovely chatting with them. One lady purchased a handspun yarn shortly before the fair closed for the night, and she returned with a most beautiful finished crochet scarf the very next morning. “I couldn´t wait, I just had to get my crochet hook out and work with that yarn while watching Harry Potter on TV” she said. She then went and also bought one of the 100m-project crochet hats I had made with the same yarn size and colourway. Dont these colors look fabulous on her?
I finished some new felt necklaces in rich rainbow shades, and there are also brown and gray versions in stock now embellished with shiny silk! They are displayed in my etsy store StoneCircleWools.
And there will be more hand dyed rovings, curly fleece and handspun yarns for my etsy store All The Pretty Fibers soon, please bear with me while I restock the yarns and fibers.
Everyone have a fantastic month of November. Keep it colorful!!
