So the craft fair is drawing nearer, and most of the yarns are spun, painted, labeled and boxed. I am still fiddling with the textile labels I have to sew into my wool hats and scarves, it is time consuming, and I don´t like sewing very much.
I have not been neglecting my etsy store :o) There are now fresh yarns, rovings and batts listed, have a look:
I also painted a new batch of extra soft british bluefaced leicester curly fleece for my dollmakers in a beautiful honey blonde shade. One of my customers sent me some photos of one of her miniature dolls, for which she used my painted reddish brown fleece. This little doll is truly adorable:
Such a cutie!
Everyone have a wonderful autumn season and Happy Crafting!
Here comes my new batch of beautifully soft and scrumptous hand painted Bluefaced Leicester lambswool fleece with plenty of lovely curls! This fleece is my personal favourite, perfect for people with sensitive skin, be it for nuno felting, needle felting, wild dolls hair, handspinning, sewing or embellishing, it can be used for a wide range of woolly projects. :o) The fleeces can be found in my etsy store.
I am currently sorting a new award winning Wensleydale fleece in natural black, a stunning fleece indeed. When you get a raw black fleece you never know if it remains black once it has been washed, or if it will turn dark grey, dark brown, or, god forbid, even light grey….I have seen it all before…. No, this baby has remained very black with some silver streaks in it and beautiful light brown tips. Just what I wanted, yay! The first 10 bags are already displayed on etsy . There are long locks of up to 7 inches in length, and a shorter version of around 4-5 inches:
That´s all for now. Everyone, have a wonderful autumn weekend!
Here are my first batches of handpainted bluefaced leicester and shetland wool rovings in wonderful heathered autumn colours, a total of 3 lbs. They are displayed in my etsy store :
There will be more batches of heathered colourways, and handpainted super soft merino roving will be coming up soon.
Everyone have a colourful autumn season!
Here comes my roving update before the end of the month, 2.2lbs of hand painted eco friendly wool beauties, mulesing free merino wool (21 micron) and 50/50 merino/silk rovings, now available in my etsy store :
Plus, all 49 colours of my 24 micron merino roving fiber are now back in stock and available through etsy :
Everyone, have a very good Summer season! :o)
So I´ve tried a crocheted felting project. I never tried one before. I have been doing loads of wet and nuno felting, and many needle felting projects too. But crocheted felting? Okay, to keep this story short, I handspun a heavy worsted (aran) single yarn (2×3.5oz/110yds) from my 24 micron merino rovings, that can be found in my etsy store – I used several colours from my 9oz 20 colour mix, I picked the colours quite randomly really. I crocheted a pair of XXXL slippers, using an 8mm hook, and washed the slippers at 60 degrees Celsius for one cycle in my washing machine (the washing cycle took around 1 1/1 hours). And, ta taa……
I have increased my stock of handspun thick and thin merino yarns and added 3 new colours, vibrant orange, pansy purple, and opal blue, they can be found in my ebay listing on ebayUK:
And 2 new handspun yarns have made it into my etsy store, with great colour combinations, one perfect for knitted felting, and the second one an extra soft merino yarn, here they are:
Everyone, have a wonderful and creative summer season! Keep safe. :o)
All 25 shades of my super soft 20 micron merino wool rovings are restocked in 3.5oz (100g) braids, including leaf green, berry red, and pitch black.
All standard colourways of my handspun and handpainted merino thick and thin yarns are also restocked, including “Element”, “Reds” and “Savannah”. I made tons of these babies this month…I think I will take a serious thick and thin break for a while. :o)
Fleece wise I sorted several 1oz bags of lovely clean natural white long wensleydale curls, and hand painted long wensleydale curls in rich auburn-mahogany. The curls will make beautiful long dolls hair. They can also be tailspun, or incorporated into any felting project for extra texture.
That´s all folks. Have a very good spring season and Happy Fiber Crafting!
The new year has started well with plenty of snow and very cold and crisp days, presenting a beautiful blue sky and lots of winter sunshine. On those days I even enjoy walking through the snowy winter forest up to the post office with my “Santa Bag” full of parcels and enveleopes that need to get on their way so people can start with their fiber projects. While Kitty loves accompanying me she enjoys the snow season only with her winter suit on – mind you, the little sweetheart comes from Spain and has next to zero undercoat.
The space dyed wool roving in fire red/yellow/brick is finally (!!) back and available, and so are the 24 micron merino wool rovings in deep raspberry pink, sky blue, deep red, bright yellow, and aubergine purple!
All 48 colours of the soft 24 micron mulesing free merino roving can be found in my etsy store :
As to the current custom orders: All deadlines for January will be met guys! :o)
That´s all for now. Everyone enjoy the winter season and HAPPY FIBER CRAFTING.
The 20-colours merino mixed bags no.80 and no.70 are now restocked and available again through my etsy store . Also the purple rainbow merino roving and brown rainbow merino roving are back in stock and displayed in my etsy store,
I carded new batches of super soft merino/silk batts – I didn´t entirely get around the autumn colours, I know it´s still summer, but I love those shades too much to leave them out. :o)
And of course some new yarns and rovings were created this month, merino/silk blends, bluefaced leicester, pure merino rovings, wensleydale long locks, hand painted merino lace, baby alpaca fingering weight, and a beautiful handspun thick and thin super chunky baby in stripey black, white and, grey that I have called “Snowy Rock”. Have a look:
Remember my pink-purple handspun merino-bluefaced leicester yarn from July´s blog? Well, I spun a second skein in the same colourway and a third one in multicolor rainbow yarn from my space dyed wool slivers, coming to about 310g (10.9oz) of yarn between worsted and chunky weight, with an approximate total length of 400m (440yds). I crocheted a beautiful and cosy hooded scarf with them. I love the finished piece very much, it came out the way I had hoped. It will be perfect for very cold weather. I kept my promise, didn´t I? I did not crochet another beanie…. :o)
All 49 colours of my 24/6 micron soft merino wool rovings (combed tops) are back in stock. I have created a new listing of 20g balls (0.7oz) for my felters, handspinners, dreadmakers and dollmakers, with just one basic shipping charge and no additional shipping fees, no matter how much wool of that listing is ordered. Feel free to have a look at my listing on ebayUK .
Everyone, HAPPY FIBER CRAFTING! :o)
