Self striping lace

I have been handspinning new fingering weight yarns, perfect for laceworks and weaving. Have a look at my first lot of 3 self striping beauties that are displayed in my etsy store All The Pretty Fibers: SALTARELLO, PETALS and LANDSCAPE. Cuddly soft and light, with a whopping yardage of over 500yds each, and simply gorgeous! I am sure I will be handspinning a few more this summer, I´m hooked :o)

Wools and curls – a color splash in May

here comes my May fiber update – loads of fresh colors, all rich and vibrant in deliciously soft and squishy fleeces, yarns, batts and rovings, now available in my etsy store All The Pretty Fibers !

The fibers and yarns are most suitable for craft projects such as doll making, needle/wet/nuno felting, sewing, embellishing, hand spinning and dreadmaking.

Everyone have a splendid month of May, and Happy Crafting! :o)

Felt jewelry and hand dyed wool fiber

Here comes my new set of hand felted necklaces and hand dyed extra soft merino wool rovings, all in very rich and vibrant colors – color food for the soul! The felt necklaces come in sizes from S to XL and can be found at StoneCircleWools on Etsy, and the hand dyed roving at AllThePrettyFibers also on Etsy. :o)

And three new handspun merino yarns have come off the bobbins, “Dragonfly II” , “Embers II” and “Slate III”. The yarns are very soft and have more yardage than my regular lots, though they are still within the double knit and light worsted weight range, so they can be knitted with needle size 4-4.5mm (US 6-7). They are now displayed in my Etsy store AllThePrettyFibers

Everyone enjoy the Easter holidays and Happy Crafting!

Now I would like to show you the finished Nightshift shawl that one of my german customers made with the yarns I custom spun for her. She kindly sent me some photos (vielen Dank Silke!!) – the shawl is absolutely stunning and so rich in color, have a look:

The pattern for the nightshift shawl can be found on Ravelry (see my blog entry from March 7th), it was created by Andrea Mowry. The yarns and yardage for the shawl are available in various colourways by custom order but I sometimes also have the corresponding yarn sizes available in my etsy store.

Everyone have a wonderful spring season, and Happy Crafting!! :o)

Easter eggs and fun colors

May I present my fun bunch of needle felted Easter eggs in very bright and rich colours! I am selling them in groups of 4 and 5 in my etsy store StoneCircleWools. They will so bring the sunshine and spring breeze into your home, either on fresh Easter branches or in a lovely Easter basket. They also make great gifts, have a look:

There are also large felted eggs of about goose egg size available, they come with a lovely long satin ribbon to decorate e.g. a window or a door:

The delivery time within Europe is 6-10 days, and 7-14 days for the rest of the world (including the US, Australia, NZ and Canada).

Okay, time to look after my new batch of hand painted merino silk rovings that are currently simmering in the dye pot. :o) Everyone have a wonderful spring week!! :o)

The glorious 6, and chasing the sunbeams

I finished a custom order for 6 skeins of handspun worsted weight merino yarn for a very lovely german lady, who requested the yarns for a nightshift shawl project using a knitting pattern created by Andrea Mowry. However she didn´t want the earthy fall colors used in the original, she had a very specific color combination in mind. If you are on ravelry you can find the shawl pattern and more information here . Now, I am a true sucker for fall colors, you can sell them to me all year around, but the colourways my customer chose make an extraordinary and very interesting gang indeed! Here are the glorious 6:

From left to right: “Jungle 7”, 18.5 micron merino in lime green and bottle green, “Fairyland”, “Waterfall”, “Autumn Rose”, and “Bali Dancer”. Each skein measures 167-178yds (150-160m) per 3.5oz (100g).

Man, I would LOVE to see a pic once the shawl is finished! I will ask the lady very nicely, with a big cherry on top ;o)

The bulky version of these yarns are for sale in my etsy store. I spin them on a regular basis, and in case one is sold out custom requests are most welcome.

While I was packing up the yarns and today´s orders my little spanish girl was desperate to catch a fraction of the March sunlight – I swear the weather has been weird for March, first we get a whopping 20 degrees Celsius (me walking around outside in a T-Shirt and shorts…), and next thing you know it´s snowing….what the….???

So for exactly 12 minutes
Señorita Kitty was in sunny heaven, bless her.

Super fine merino and curly fleece beauties

I will be stocking a super fine mulesing free 18.5 micron merino fiber, slowly replacing my current 20 micron stock, as my wholesaler for this particular fiber closed his business for good – BIG sniff!! I guess when you are 74 years old and worked hard all your live in the wool business you finally deserve retirement. I am surprised he still managed the hard work at that age, I respectfully take my hat off. So far there´s the 18.5micron fiber available in beautiful light taupe, dark burgundy, light pink and dark blue, more to come soon :o)

I have sorted more of my hand washed dark grey wensleydale curly fleece, and I`ve dyed new beautiful batches of the extra soft bluefaced leicester lambswool fleece, all available in my etsy store:

and the handspun/handpainted merino thick and thin yarns have been restocked:

I will be attending the St.Leon-Rot craft fair at the “Harres Cultural Centre” on March 17th (11am-5.30pm), located near Walldorf and Wiesloch. Until then I won´t stop pedalling and dyeing any time soon :o) Do come and stop by at my stall for a lovely chat!

Everyone, enjoy your fiber projects!

Batts, Hats & Yarn

Here comes my first blog of the new year, a little late I know, but several yarn orders kept me busy pedalling away. Okay, the following fibers and yarns are now displayed in my etsy store, they include repeatable colourways and one of a kind lots, have a look:

During the cold season I very much enjoy crocheting new merino hats, they are all made with my handspun and hand dyed yarns. Most of them are one of a kind. You can find them on etsy at StoneCircleWools:

I am already preparing for the next craft fair in March, spinning, carding and painting away, so new custom orders may take a little longer than usual.

Everyone have a very lovely weekend!

Snug slouch hats

I finished some very beautiful and cosy slouch hats and loop scarves, they are made of hand dyed extra soft merino-silk yarns and handspun merino yarn, they are now displayed at StoneCircleWools on etsy:

Everyone have a very peaceful and snug 1st advent weekend! :o)
